Son Volt

Son Volt play the Aladdin Theater on Saturday, November 14, as part of their autumn tour. They're out on the road behind Sound Signal Serenades, the album that arrived on Friday, August 28, and which had previously been offered on colored vinyl exclusively through Record Store Day.

The record has been rolling out in singles: "Serenade Song" came first, with a lyric video, followed by "If I Could" and "Skeleton At the Feast," with "Coalfield Wars" to follow. Frontman Jay Farrar sat down with WMPG to talk about the album and his other projects, and the band's news also highlights a collaboration between Farrar and Kelly Willis.

That collaboration is exactly why Willis is on the bill. The tour pairs the band with different opening acts: Shannon McNally opened from September 17 to 24, Jesse Farrar took the slot on September 25, and Kelly Willis opens from November 13 to 21, which covers the Portland date. So you'll get two acts in one night.

Doors open at 7 PM, show starts at 8 PM. The Aladdin Theater is at 3017 SE Milwaukie Ave, Portland, OR 97202.
