Hip-hop and R&B performance by Shwayze on The Nostalgia Tour, with special guests Asher Roth and Chiddy Bang.
Shwayze brings The Nostalgia Tour to the Mission Theater on Saturday, November 14, with Asher Roth and Chiddy Bang on the bill. The Portland stop is presented by Reggae Rise Up.
It's a full night of hip-hop from three acts that all fit together. Shwayze headlines, and he's joined by Asher Roth and Chiddy Bang, so you'll get three sets in one evening rather than just one name on the marquee. The tour is called The Nostalgia Tour, and that title tells you exactly what to expect: a look back at the records that put these names on the map. If you've spent time with their older material, that's what's going to be on display here.
The venue is the Mission Theater, known around town as 'the Mission.' It's in the West End Entertainment District in downtown Portland, and it's an old church building—originally home to the Swedish Mission Covenant congregation in the early 20th century. It still keeps that staid, buttoned-up church look on the outside, though inside it's a live music space that also hosts video dance nights and special events on select nights each month. It holds about 300 standing and 200 seated, with a mezzanine that wraps around three sides, so you'll have a clear view of the stage whether you're on the floor or up in the balcony.

Doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM, which gives you plenty of time to get in and settle before the first set. With Shwayze, Asher Roth, and Chiddy Bang all on the same bill, it's a long night of music, so coming early is a good call. The Mission is right in the West End, easy to get to from anywhere downtown.
