Tech-progressive live hologram performance by Sergio Elisondo as the CTWC 2026 Opening Anthem.
Sergio Elisondo is performing at the Oregon Convention Center on Sunday, October 11, as the opening anthem for the Classic Tetris World Championship 2026. He's a San Jose, California native, and this is his role for the tournament: he kicks off the whole thing with a live performance.
If you've never seen him, the act is a bit of a trip. He performs as Sergio and the Holograms, a tech-progressive live show where he plays guitar and sings front-man while life-sized hologram projections of a backing band appear around him. It's not just a backdrop; the projections are meant to look like a full band on stage with him, so you get the visual of a group without anyone else actually being there.
The project started as a one-man band on YouTube, where he recorded video game arrangements across a wide range of instruments and later filmed them to project as a hologram band when he took the show on the road. His repertoire pulls from a few different places: original songs, NES video game arrangements, and 80s covers. He's played conventions before, including PRGE 2016 (Portland Retro Gaming Convention) and CAX 2016 (California Extreme), so he's no stranger to the gaming crowd.
