A screening of the film Twilight paired with a themed tasting menu of bite-sized items corresponding to scenes in the movie, hosted at OMSI's Empirical Theater.
Reel Eats: Twilight is coming to OMSI's Empirical Theater on Tuesday, October 20, and Wednesday, October 21. It's part of Reel Eats, the series OMSI runs that pairs a film with a tasting menu of bite-sized items that correspond to moments on screen. The idea is that you eat along with the movie: popcorn when a character is on stage, sliders for a baseball hit, or salad for a garden scene. Each ticket includes a bottle of water and a tray of six to twelve bites.
The screenings are at the Empirical Theater, which is powered by Dolby Atmos and described as a movie house that uses science to fuel immersive experiences, teaching, motivating, and entertaining audiences. It's also where the museum hosts Reel Science, bringing science to life on the big screen. The theater has several accessibility features: an upper-level wheelchair-accessible entrance, theater restrooms, CaptiView closed-caption devices, Fidelio RX audio-description and volume-amplification units, and neck loops for hearing aids. There are also sensory resource packs with noise-reducing headphones, fidget toys, and a weighted shoulder wrap. One thing to keep in mind: the venue cannot accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies.
