NBA preseason basketball game between the Portland Trail Blazers and the London Lions at Moda Center.
The Portland Trail Blazers take on the London Lions at the Moda Center on Monday, October 12. It's an NBA preseason game, so it's one of those early-season matchups that gets the team back on the court before the regular season kicks off. The Blazers are the main feature here, playing on their home floor in Portland.
Because it's preseason, the game is as much about the process as the result. These are the games where the coaching staff works through rotations, gives minutes to the younger guys, and lets the newcomers get their legs under them in a real game setting. It's a chance to see who's fighting for a spot on the final roster and how the team is shaping up before the games actually count toward the standings. If you've been following the off-season moves, this is when you start to see how those pieces fit together in live action.
The London Lions are coming in from across the Atlantic, making this a cross-continental matchup right here in the city. It's not every day you see a British side playing in the Moda Center, and that adds a bit of a novelty to the afternoon. For a basketball fan, it's a good way to get a look at the Blazers' current form without the high stakes of a regular-season game.
