Singer-songwriter Pete Yorn performs a solo acoustic set, celebrating the 25th anniversary of his debut album 'musicforthemorningafter'.
Pete Yorn plays the Aladdin Theater on Sunday, December 6, as a solo acoustic act. The night is billed as a 25th anniversary show for musicforthemorningafter, the debut album that first put him on the map. If you've been following him since then, that's the record you remember—the one that earned RIAA Platinum certification and got a shout-out from NPR and Rolling Stone when it came out in 2001.
Since that debut, Yorn has put out eight more solo albums and landed nine Top Ten hits on AAA radio. He's also worked with a wide range of people: Frank Black, Peter Buck, Liz Phair, and Scarlett Johansson, whose 2009 duet with him, "Break Up," went Platinum in France. On stage, he's shared bills with R.E.M., Coldplay, and My Morning Jacket, and he's played Coachella, Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, and Austin City Limits. SPIN has called him one of his generation's best songwriters.
There's also new material in the mix. His 2025 album All The Beauty was recorded and co-produced with Jackson Phillips, who also goes by Day Wave; Yorn describes it as a meditation on growth, change, and finding peace in the present. So the set will pull from both ends of his career: the early songs he's been playing for two and a half decades and the newer stuff he's working with now.
