peejmudd

peejmudd plays Los Hongos Cafe and Plant Bar on Saturday, October 10, as part of the venue's Kava Nights. The music starts at 7 PM, though Kava Nights themselves kick off earlier at 5 PM, so you can get there early and settle in before the set.

peejmudd is the solo project of Philip Patton, a musician and composer based in Chico, California. He works in instrumentals, blending post-rock, cinematic rock, ambient and neo-classical into melodic, immersive pieces. He draws on artists like Olafur Arnalds, The Album Leaf and M83, and his work has been described as hauntingly beautiful and cinematic. Across twelve releases, he's charted on the iTunes Classical chart in Spain.

He'll be playing from his latest album, fight to keep from sinking, which came out on March 14, 2025. The record was preceded by the lead single "this day is ours," released on January 24, 2025, which features the post-rock artist They Danced Like Programmed Angels. If you're coming from the post-rock side of things, that's a good place to start; if you're more into the ambient and neo-classical end, the album's title should give you a sense of where it sits.

Admission is free, with no cover. The music starts at 7 PM at Los Hongos Cafe and Plant Bar in Portland, and Kava Nights start at 5 PM.
