Post-hardcore band Pastel Faces perform live at The High Limit Room in Portland, with support from Worseforwear, All Hype, Down Pour and Greyhound Go.
Pastel Faces are playing the High Limit Room on Wednesday, October 14, with Worseforwear sharing the bill. They're coming down from Seattle, Washington, where they've built their sound as a post-hardcore band. It's a five-piece with Antonio Tandiama on vocals and guitar, Dillon Patrick on drums, Jaden Bullard Santiago on guitar, James Chappell on bass, and Jonathan Ruiz on vocals. The two singers split the duties, which gives the band a different dynamic than a single-frontman setup.
They describe themselves as "the heaviest soft band," a phrase that hints at the contrast they lean into. It's that post-hardcore territory where the quiet parts stay quiet and the heavy parts hit hard, and the two live side by side rather than blending together. If you've seen them before, you know that's the core of what they do.
It's a full bill, not just two bands. All Hype, Down Pour, and Greyhound Go are also on the lineup, so there's a good amount of music to get through before the night wraps. With five acts in one evening, the room should stay moving from the first set to the last.
