Electronic music performance by Ott, a British producer known for his work with sound boxes and psychedelic trance influences.
Ott plays REALM PDX on Thursday, October 15, with the show starting at 7 PM. He's coming from Bath, UK, and he's the only name on the bill.
If you're not familiar with him, Ott has been working with sound boxes for as long as he can remember. He spent the 1990s as a freelance studio engineer and spent his free time at psychedelic trance parties, and that background shaped how he approaches production. He teamed up with Twisted Records in 2002, which brought the acclaimed Hallucinogen In Dub, followed by his first solo effort, Blumenkraft, in 2003. Then came Skylon in 2008 and Mir in 2011. In 2015, he financed a new studio through a successful Kickstarter and released Fairchild.
That's a fair amount of ground to cover, and since he's the sole feature of the night, the set will be his to shape. He's spent over two decades moving from the studio to the stage, and this is one of those shows where the focus is entirely on the sound he's built around those early trance parties and the years spent behind the boards.
