Punk rock band Moonraker performs live at Know No Bar in Portland.
Moonraker play Know No Bar on Saturday, October 10, starting at 6 PM. They're a punk band from Santa Clarita and Oxnard, California, and this is their only act on the bill.
They formed in 2011 around best friends Nick Sucks on bass and David Green on drums, with a revolving cast of guitarists filling out the lineup over the years. After a string of EPs, they put out their debut LP, Fail Better, on October 14, 2016, through Felony Records. The record sits in the tradition of bands like Alkaline Trio and The Lawrence Arms, balancing melody, self-deprecation, and humor while taking an introspective look at the woes of everyday life. That same spirit carries over to the live set, so if you're familiar with that side of punk, you'll recognize the sound.
