Alt-pop-rock artist MICO performs live on his Running From A Feeling Tour, with special guest Will Linley.
MICO brings his Running From A Feeling Tour to Wonder Ballroom on Sunday, October 11, with Will Linley opening. It's a Portland stop on the run supporting his first full-length album, When the lights turn on, which came out this past June on Columbia Records.
MICO is a 23-year-old Filipino-Canadian artist who first built a following on TikTok, where he's now close to a million followers. He started writing and releasing his own songs back in 2019, and that pop-infused alternative sound has turned up a few streaming hits along the way: 2022's "cut my hair" and 2024's "HOMESICK," the latter of which earned him a JUNO nomination. The new album, When the lights turn on, draws on 2000s and 2010s pop-punk while pushing into modern alt-pop and hyperpop. His latest single, "Everything's the Same," came out after he spent much of the previous year and a half away from Toronto.
Will Linley opens the night and has drawn strong praise from fans. Between the two, you'll get a full bill of alt-pop and pop-punk leaning toward the loud, melodic side of things. If you've been following MICO since the TikTok days, this is a chance to hear the songs that started it all alongside the newer material from the record.
