Portland singer-songwriter Megan Cronin plays originals with special guest Joe Sanchez in the monthly Local Roots NW Inspiring Artists Songwriting Series.
Megan Cronin plays Ross Island Grocery & Cafe on Saturday, October 17, from 5 PM to 7 PM. She'll be performing her own originals, with Joe Sanchez appearing as a special guest. The show is part of the Local Roots NW Inspiring Artists Songwriting Series, which has run on the third Saturday of every month at Ross Island Grocery & Cafe.
Cronin is a Portland singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She writes guitar-forward songs rooted in Americana, and her formal string training shapes the way she puts them together. She's a 2025 MusicOregon Echo Grant recipient and a Local Roots Music NW Song Contest winner, and she's released five EPs to date. She plays select headlining shows and festivals each year.
The series grew out of Local Roots Music NW, which Robert Richter, a local musician and entrepreneur, started in 2013 as a Sunday night radio program on KMUZ-FM in Salem. It's now syndicated across four FM stations in the Pacific Northwest and has featured more than 1,000 musicians. Along the way, the organization has put on music festivals, recorded hundreds of live concerts and television showcases, and released six compilation volumes of Northwest music.
