Alternative rock concert featuring Portland bands MECH and Tinhorn at the Mission Theater.
MECH and Tinhorn are playing together at the Mission Theater on Saturday, November 21. It's a double bill of two Portland bands that have both been around for a while, and both are playing original rock.
MECH is a professional rock band from Portland that plays original alternative rock. They formed in the early 90s, so they've been at this for over three decades. Their most recent full-length, Days Around The Sun, came out in 2020, and they have a new EP planned for late 2026, which puts this show right in the window of that new material. Tinhorn is also a Portland band, formed in 1997. They describe themselves as a guitar-driven, groove-oriented rock band built on grit, groove and big choruses, and they have two full-length albums to their name.
Between the two of them, you're getting two bands from the same city with different histories and different ways of approaching rock. MECH has been around since the early 90s and is working toward a new EP; Tinhorn has been around since 1997 and has two albums behind them. Both are playing original material, so the night is built on what they've written rather than covers.
