Indie rock singer-songwriter Kristen Ford performs live at the Singacoustic venue in Portland, accompanied by local musicians Mary Scholz and Pete Kronowitt.
Kristen Ford plays Singacoustic in Portland on Wednesday, October 14, at 5 PM. She's the main feature of the night, and she's bringing along Mary Scholz, Pete Kronowitt, and Rooster Blackspur to round out the bill.
Ford is an indie rocker from Franklin County, Massachusetts, who studied guitar and recording with June Millington of Fanny at The Institute for the Musical Arts. She's spent a lot of time on the road, playing more than 2,000 shows across 50 states and 10 countries, including stops at Fenway Park and The Fillmore in San Francisco. Along the way, she's collaborated with homegrown artists like Sonya Kitchell, And the Kids, Naia Kete, and Jax Hollow. These days she calls Sacramento, California, home.
In 2023, she signed with Righteous Babe Records, and her album Pinto was produced by Grammy winners John Driskell Hopkins and Ani DiFranco. Her personal and political anthems have been described as "arena-ready and intimate" by Rainbow Rodeo, and she's been featured on syndicated radio, Woodsongs, Acoustic Cafe, and daytime NBC. She's currently working on a new album, Sad Sac, which she describes as highly collaborative.
