The band Joseph celebrates the 10th anniversary of their debut album I'm Alone, No You're Not.
Joseph are playing Wonder Ballroom on Saturday, November 7, for the 10th anniversary of their debut album, I'm Alone, No You're Not. It's a homecoming of sorts: the trio is made up of sisters Natalie, Allie and Meegan Closner, and they're from right here in Oregon. They've built their sound on three-part harmonies, emotionally honest songwriting and a blend of indie pop, folk and rock that doesn't sit neatly in one box.
That debut record came out in 2016 and included the single "White Flag," which helped them land spots on The Tonight Show and TODAY and get them onto the Billboard charts. Since then, they've put out a string of critically acclaimed records, including Good Luck, Kid in 2019 and The Sun in 2023, and played major festivals like Coachella, Glastonbury and Bonnaroo. Their most recent release, Closer to Happy, came out this year; it was co-produced with Luke Niccoli and works through themes of grief, self-trust and radical self-acceptance.
This particular show is a look back at where it all started. The anniversary focuses on that first album, I'm Alone, No You're Not, so the set will center on the songs that first put them on the map. It's a good way to hear the record that launched them, especially since they're playing it in their own backyard.
