New Orleans singer-songwriter Hans Williams performs his soulful, dreamy folk music on his North American tour, headlining the SONGS FOR THE NEIGHBORS tour.
Hans Williams plays the Star Theater on Sunday, March 21, 2027. He's a New Orleans singer-songwriter, and this Portland date is part of a North American run that kicks off in January. It follows a string of intimate backyard performances across the South that sold out almost instantly.
The set will draw from his debut album, Songs for the Neighbors, which he recorded largely live at his home in Bayou St. John. He worked on it with his longtime band and producer Phin Choukas, who also produces Noah Kahan. The record blends folk with touches of soul, funk, psychedelia and country, and Williams describes it as being about connection with friends, lovers, family, neighbors and those no longer here. One of the singles, "Harding Road," is a love song to his New Orleans neighborhood that's been described as soulful and evoking Marvin Gaye.
Williams describes his music as soulful, dreamy folk shaped by the people and places closest to him. That backyard where Songs for the Neighbors came together is the same one where late-night jams and intimate shows regularly spill over fences and through open windows. He's partnering with PLUS1 for this tour, so $1 from every ticket goes to organizations working for equity, access and dignity.
