For those who might be coming to him from this record, there's a bit of a story there. glaive, born Ash Blue Gutierrez in Florida and raised in Hendersonville, North Carolina, first broke out in 2020 while still in high school with underground hyperpop hits that led to an Interscope deal. His 2023 debut, I Care So Much That I Don't Care At All, helped push hyperpop from an internet micro-genre into the mainstream. His second album, May It Never Falter, recorded in Iceland and Wales, was named one of the best of 2024 by Vogue. He works with a tight-knit team that includes John Cunningham, Ralph Castelli, and Jeff Hazin.
