Frankie Cosmos celebrates the 10-year anniversary of her album 'Next Thing' with a live performance at the Aladdin Theater, supported by Coral Grief.
Frankie Cosmos plays the Aladdin Theater on Sunday, October 25, with Coral Grief opening. It's a ten-year anniversary show for Next Thing, the record that put Greta Kline on the map. If you've been following her since then, you know the project has changed a lot since those early days.
Frankie Cosmos is the project of Greta Kline, a New York songwriter, guitarist, and singer. Over the last decade she's put out music through labels like Sub Pop Records and self-published on Bandcamp, where she has more than 50 albums—everything from solo demos to full-band studio recordings. She spent much of the period between 2013 and 2019 touring the world, and her songs tend to explore small moments and personal relationships. Jenn Pelly, writing for Pitchfork, called her "a savior of indie pop and the poet laureate of New York City DIY."
Her latest album, Different Talking (2025), was recorded, arranged, produced, and played by her current bandmates: Greta Kline, Alex Bailey, Katie Von Schleicher, and Hugo Stanley. That's the band you'll see on stage, and they're the ones who've been shaping the sound of her more recent work. Between that and the anniversary of Next Thing, the set should pull from both ends of the decade.
