feeble little horse

feeble little horse play Wonder Ballroom on Saturday, December 5, as part of their bitknot tour. The show starts at 8 PM, and it's an all-ages night.

bitknot is the band's third full-length LP, written, arranged, produced, and recorded by Sebastian Kinsler, Lydia Slocum, and Jake Kelley across their homes in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They describe the record as a synthesis of dirt and digital, drawing on the "core memory matrix" of old computers — the "bit" accessed through a grid of wires, much like a knot — to propose new modes of being rooted in interdependence rather than in a consumptive "self-sufficiency." The album art is built around that same matrix.

Sonically, the record blends Kinsler's buoyant arrangements, Slocum's meandering introspection and saccharine hooks, walls of noise, synths and samples, and Kelley's laser-focused drums. It's a lot to hold at once: the pop melodies and the noise, the digital textures and the live playing. Hearing it in a room rather than through headphones lets you feel how those things actually sit together.

Tickets run from $29 to $50.50, and since it's all ages, you can bring whoever you want. The show is at Wonder Ballroom on Saturday, December 5, starting at 8 PM.
