Concert featuring Everybody's Worried About Owen, Mel Bryant & the Mercy Makers, and Trans Panic at The Off Beat.
Everybody's Worried About Owen plays The Off Beat on Thursday, December 3, with Mel Bryant & the Mercy Makers and Trans Panic. It's an all-ages show presented by Friends of Noise and the venue, and no alcohol is sold on site.
Everybody's Worried About Owen is the solo project of Owen Trawick, a Portland artist who describes his music as a blend of folk punk, midwest emo, musical theatre, and indie singer-songwriter. The project started during the 2020 pandemic, and it took its name from that time. Trawick's first releases, the singles "The Soccer Journals" and "Mawce," appeared on the EP There Are Leeches In Denton Lake. That was followed by the single "Gut Punch/Don't Meet Your Idols," a split with The Last Arizona, and the 2023 concept EP Nunemaker's Swingset, which centers on the ghost of Sally Nunemaker. His full-length album, I Love The Red Trail, was produced by Say 10 Records.
Much of the project's early reach came through TikTok, where tracks like "Mawce," "Gut Punch/Don't Meet Your Idols," and "Nunemaker's Parable" found an audience among young queer listeners. That same queer community is a good point of reference for the night as a whole: the bill brings together Trawick with Mel Bryant & the Mercy Makers and Trans Panic, and the all-ages, alcohol-free setting keeps it open to a younger crowd.
