A science comedy show by Naomi Fitter exploring gender parity in engineering, with food and drinks available.
Naomi Fitter brings Engineering: Too Hot for Cable to the Empirical Theater at OMSI on Thursday, October 15. It's a science comedy night, not a lecture, and it's billed as a raunchy-yet-educational slide-show that asks how to reach gender parity in engineering. Fitter headlines with Jenna Nobs and Bert Walpack joining her on the bill.
Fitter describes herself as a doctor of comedy and engineeringโa professor by day and a comedian by night. She's worked alongside Aparna Nancherla, Steve Hofstetter, Don McMillan, Laurie Kilmartin, and Whitney Cummings, performed at the All Jane Comedy Festival, and been featured in TIME magazine. Beyond the stage, she runs the Naughty but Nerdy and STEM Cabaret shows across the West Coast and built an autonomous robotic stand-up comedian, Jon the Robot, who's been featured by NPR and TIME.
