A curated screening of four short films by local filmmaker Jason Rosenblatt at The Alberta Rose Theatre.
Jason Rosenblatt is bringing four of his short films to The Alberta Rose Theatre on Wednesday, October 14. The program, Doc-Doc-Mock & Sherblock, is a compilation of four short films by the Portland writer, director, and editor, all shown together in one evening.
Rosenblatt has a background that spans a few different corners of the industry. His early experience included an internship at Spyglass Entertainment and stints as a reader at New Regency Entertainment and Creative Artists Agency. These days he edits for award-winning documentary filmmaker Heather E. Connell and frequently collaborates with fellow Portland filmmaker Sean Parker. This particular night is curated by Rosenblatt himself, so the selection of four shorts comes directly from his own work.
The films are showing at The Alberta Rose Theatre in the Alberta Arts District. The venue opened as a motion picture house in 1927 and has since re-emerged as a spot for music, comedy, circus, film, and live performance. It's a 300-seat listening room that keeps the feel of a Spanish-Colonial courtyard, with good acoustics and clear lines of sight from most seats. It's been drawing audiences for more than 80 years.
