Premiere screening of the documentary Craig Hates Running followed by a Q&A with the director and subject, presented by Portland Track.
Portland Track is bringing the documentary Craig Hates Running to the Mission Theater on Sunday, October 25. It's a premiere screening, so you'll be seeing it one of the first times it's played, and it's followed by a Q&A with the director and the subject, Craig himself. If you've ever felt a bit of friction with the running world, this is exactly the kind of thing you'll want to see.
The Mission is a great spot for this. It was originally home to the Swedish Mission Covenant congregation in the early 20th century, with the Swedish Evangelical Mission establishing its church there in the 1890s. The building still keeps that staid, buttoned-up look of its church past, though these days it hosts live music, video dance nights and special events. It holds about 300 standing and 200 seated, with a mezzanine running along three sides. If you're in the neighborhood on a different day, the venue also runs a 'Mission Theater History & Art Tour' on select Sundays and Thursdays at 1 PM.
