A regional Mexican music concert featuring the talents of Chuy Lizarraga and Julio Preciado, performing banda and traditional hits.
Chuy Lizárraga and Julio Preciado play the Theater of the Clouds at the Rose Quarter on Saturday, October 24. It's a double bill of two Mazatlán voices sharing one stage, and the set is built around banda and traditional hits.
Lizárraga has been at this for over 32 years, with 22 of those as a solo artist. He's known for a powerful voice and a charismatic stage presence, and he's spent more than two decades fronting his own projects. Preciado comes from the same Mazatlán roots and first made his mark in the early 1990s as the vocalist for La Original Banda El Limón. From there he became the lead singer of Banda El Recodo, where he helped the group reach international audiences. Together they bring a night of banda and traditional music.
The show is part of a 13-date U.S. tour presented by Live Nation and Rancho Humilde. Rancho Humilde is the Los Angeles record label founded in 2008 by Jimmy Humilde, José 'J.B.' Becerra, and Roque Venegas; it's home to more than a hundred artists, including Junior H, Oscar Maydon, Natanael Cano, and Fuerza Regida.
