Concert by Los Angeles-based alt-pop artist BLÜ EYES at Polaris Hall, with support from Ni/Co.
BLÜ EYES plays Polaris Hall on Tuesday, October 13, with Ni/Co opening. It's a mid-week show in North Portland, and the set comes from her Two People at Once tour.
If you haven't come across her yet, BLÜ EYES is a Los Angeles-based alt-pop artist who writes, produces, and sings her own material. She describes her work as turning raw emotion into cinematic, resonant pop, and the comparison she draws is a helpful one: she bridges the intimate storytelling of Gracie Abrams and Noah Kahan with the melodic precision and polish of Taylor Swift. It's that middle ground between the singer-songwriter side of things and the bigger, more produced pop sound.
Much of what she'll be playing comes from her forthcoming debut album. The singles leading up to it—'Two People at Once,' 'Bad Feelings,' 'Gaslight,' and 'Dear Anxiety'—have already racked up over 150 million global streams, so there's a fair amount of familiar ground to lean on. Because she handles the writing and production herself, the songs carry her own sonic fingerprints rather than a label's polish. She's been cited as one of the more compelling new voices shaping the next era of authentic pop, and this tour is where that work moves from the studio to the stage.
