Big Ass Truck I.E.

Big Ass Truck I.E. brings their metal to the High Limit Room on Friday, October 23. They're not coming alone, either: the bill includes Chamber, Mugshot, Load Tha Nine, and Mad Choice, so it's a full night of heavy music rather than just one band and a quick opener.

If you haven't run into them before, the name gives you a fair idea of where they're coming from. Big Ass Truck I.E. is a metal act born in the Inland Empire, and they describe themselves as a "wrecking crew on bald tires" rather than a traditional hardcore band. It's a specific way of talking about their sound—they trade in "2000 horsepower breakdowns" and "12-ton riffs," so the heavy, mechanical imagery is part of the whole. It's a good shorthand for what to expect: slow, crushing weight over fast, technical shredding.

That heavy-duty approach carries through the rest of the bill, too. With Chamber, Mugshot, Load Tha Nine, and Mad Choice all on the same night, the evening stays in the same neighborhood from start to finish. It's the kind of lineup where you can settle in for the whole thing without the mood shifting halfway through.

Doors open at 6 PM at the High Limit Room, 720 SE Hawthorne Ave, and the show is open to all ages, so you can bring whoever you want. Tickets are $20 GA.
