Singer-songwriter Bebe Stockwell performs live at Holocene as part of the Monqui Presents series, with special guest Khatumu.
Bebe Stockwell plays Holocene on Thursday, October 15, as part of the Monqui Presents October calendar. She's a Boston-born singer-songwriter who first got on the radar with the viral track "Love Me Back" and her debut EP, Driving Backwards. Since then, she's built her following around folk anthems with a sharp Gen-Z edge.
She comes to Portland after sharing stages with Stephen Sanchez and Rachel Chinouriri, and the set will focus on her latest material on Columbia Records. It's an unfiltered live performance, so you'll hear the new songs as she plays them rather than a polished studio version. She's not alone for the night, either: Khatumu opens the bill as special guest.
Stockwell's work sits in that folk-songwriter tradition—voice and guitar at the center—but the "Gen-Z edge" comes through in the writing, which keeps things direct and current. If you've followed her from the early viral moments through to the Columbia signing, this is a chance to hear where the new material lands live.
