Amy Obenski

Amy Obenski plays the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland on Thursday, October 15, as part of the Folk Alliance FAR West Conference 2026. She's a San Francisco-based singer-songwriter who describes her songs as timeless, with lyrics about the experience of being human. It's a folk set in the middle of the conference, and she's the main feature of the bill.

Obenski is a California native who grew up in San Diego and spent time in Santa Cruz before moving to San Francisco in 2012. She's toured the US and Europe, recorded and toured with her French band The Carbone Band, and spent time as an Artist in Residence in Saint Herblain, France. Her voice has been described as clear, pure, haunting and mesmerising, and she's drawn comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Carole King. She performs in several formats, from energetic groove-rock with Amy & The Elements to solo acoustic sets. She's played piano since the age of six, sang in her school choir at five, and took up the guitar at twenty-two. Her song 'Carousel' appeared on the TV show Grey's Anatomy.

Beyond the music, she's supported environmental causes, including the 'Take Back Your Forest' benefit concerts and a 2012 'Carbon Conscious' global tour about rainforest burning. The show is at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah St, in the middle of the Folk Alliance FAR West Conference. If you're in town for the conference, it's one of the scheduled performances; if you're just coming for the music, it's a single-bill night with Obenski as the main feature on Thursday, October 15.
