A sunset silent disco with two music channels covering 80s, 90s and 00s hits, hosted by resident DJs at the iconic Tinside Lido venue.
Silent Social are bringing the Sunset Silent Disco back to Tinside Lido on Saturday 25 July, with the night running from 19:00 to 23:00. It's an 80s, 90s and 00s special, so the whole thing is built around the pop, dance and rock that's been on the radio for the last few decades.
The format is what makes it a silent disco: everyone wears headphones and you've got two channels to switch between, each led by a resident DJ. One channel is all pop classics, guilty pleasures and dance; the other is rock anthems, indie belters and alt-rock bangers. The two DJs are pitched against each other in a bit of a battle, so you can flip between the two whenever you fancy. If you're into the pop side, you'll find the sing-a-long stuff there; if you're more of a guitar person, the other channel is where the rock and indie sit. You can stick to one all night or jump back and forth as the mood takes you.
The venue is Tinside Lido on Hoe Road, and it's a spot with panoramic views across Plymouth Sound, so you'll be looking out over the water while you're at it. It's also an iconic part of the Hoe that's undergone a transformation over the last 18 months, so it's worth seeing it in this new light. The night is strictly for over-18s, and there's a fully stocked bar on-site for when you need a break from the headphones.
