A sunset silent disco featuring two music channels of 80s, 90s and 00s anthems at the historic Tinside Lido in Plymouth Hoe.
Silent Social are bringing a sunset silent disco to Tinside Lido on Saturday 27 June, with the 80s, 90s and 00s taking centre stage. It's an over-18s night, and you'll want to bring photo ID just in case they ask for it on the door.

The whole point of a silent disco is that you get your own set of headphones and you're in control of what you hear. There are two channels running at once, each led by a resident DJ in what they describe as a 'fierce battle'. One channel is all pop classics, guilty pleasures and dance; the other is rock anthems, indie belters and alt-rock bangers. You can flick between them whenever you like, so if the pop side isn't doing it for you, you can switch over to the rock and keep dancing without missing a beat.
Tinside Lido has had a bit of a transformation over the last 18 months, and it's a great spot for this. The doors and the bar open at 19:00, and the disco itself runs from 19:30 to 22:30, so there's plenty of time to get a drink in hand before the music starts. The bar will be fully stocked with drinks and cocktails throughout the night, and there are light snacks available too. It's an outdoor event, but there's a stretch tent by the pool if the weather turns, so you're covered either way. It's worth arriving early to make the most of the views across Plymouth Sound as the sun goes down.
Tickets are ยฃ13.70 and it's best to book in advance. Because the forecast is looking good, they've released extra tickets for this date, so there's a bit more room than there might have been otherwise. If the weather does take a turn for the worse and they have to postpone, you'll get the choice of a full refund or moving your ticket to another date. Just a heads-up: there will be photographers and videographers on site, so if you'd rather not be on camera, just let the staff know. The disco finishes at 22:30, with the bar closing up shortly after.
