Summer Holiday Cinema x LUSH Bath-Bomb Making

Plymouth Arts Cinema and LUSH have teamed up this summer for a run of family workshops where the cinema screen and the bath-bomb maker share the same room. It runs from 28 July to 6 August, with four separate sessions for children aged five and over. The idea is simple: you watch a movie, and while you're at it, you make your own LUSH bath-bomb to take home.

Each of the four dates is tied to a different film, and the workshop changes to match. On 28 July, it's Toy Story 5; on 30 July, Shrek; on 4 August, Minions and Monsters; and on 6 August, Toy Story 5 returns for a second run. Because each session is built around the film on the screen, the bath-bomb you make will be different depending on which one you pick. The workshops are described as a chance to explore the power of positive thinking and step into the shoes of a LUSH designer, and every child leaves with their own finished product.

It's worth knowing that the cinema is set up to be a welcoming, relaxed environment, specifically designed to be neurodivergent-friendly, so it's a good shout if you're bringing a group with different needs. Families are welcome across the board, and the whole thing is held at Plymouth Arts Cinema, inside the Arts University Plymouth on Tavistock Place, PL4 8AT.

The workshops cost £7.50 per child when you buy a cinema ticket, so you're paying for the film and the making session together. With four dates to choose from, you can pick the film that suits your kids best, or come back for a second one if they're not ready to stop making.
