Creativity Lab Summer Workshop Series

Creativity Lab is running a summer holiday workshop series for kids aged 6 to 12 at Plymstock Library, with the first sessions starting on Wednesday 29 July. The whole thing runs from 28 July through to 26 August, so there's plenty of room to fit it around your summer plans rather than having to commit to every single date.

Each session lasts 90 minutes and is built on a simple promise: the provider handles the mess and the parents get 90 minutes of hands-free time. It's a fair deal if you're used to the aftermath of a proper craft afternoon at home. The workshops are designed to spark curiosity and build confidence through hands-on creativity, and the projects are the kind of things kids actually want to make rather than just follow a set of instructions. Over the course of the series, they'll be building racing cars, inventing candy machines, designing kaleidoscopes and making colourful works of art.

Because it's a series, you can pick and choose the sessions that suit you. If your lot are into building and tinkering, the racing cars and candy machines will be the ones to aim for; if they're more into the visual side, the kaleidoscopes and art sessions are the way to go. Each one is 90 minutes, so it's a decent stretch of time to get stuck into a project without it feeling rushed, and you'll walk away with something finished.

It's all held at Plymstock Library on Horn Cross Road, Plymstock, PL9 9BU, and costs £15 per session. With the workshops running from late July through to late August, you can spread them out across the summer holidays or bunch them together when you need a bit of a break.
