High Street Society is putting on the Spooky Book Fair at Velum Fermentation on Saturday, October 24, and they're billing it as not your average book fair. It's a 21+ event that brings together local authors, indie bookstores, and local vendors under one roof, with the whole thing leaning into horror, thrillers, dark fantasy, paranormal romance, and other mysterious page-turners. There's a long list of authors on hand to talk books: Ann C Orlandi, Beck Grey, Chiina Bloodmire, Courtney Johnson, Elise Lang, JD Donnelly, Katie S. Scofield, L. Shannon, Lena Nazarei, Lexi Kingston, Morgan Leigh, N.E Valla, Paige Regan, Rae Davennor, Stephani Damato, Stevie Holser, Susan Gottfried, T.M. Baylor, Trisha Madley, and Tyra Lynn. You can also browse stacks from local bookstores like Blythe Books + Fine Gifts, Last Picked Books, Stay Gold Books, The Novel Exchange, The Shelf, Love Society, and Wooly Bear Books.
Beyond the books, there's a wide range of local vendors: Arrow and Pine, Aycho, Melange Macarons, Bearded Engraving, Evanly Bakes, Fixation Creation, Glass Jewelry by Ashley, Gnome School, Greensblooms, Joyful Rides Co, Kara Bee Co, Lucina Moon, Pen + Page Pittsburgh, Queen of Sparks, Stained Glass Design Studio, Tattoos by Anastasia, The Cheshire Studio, The Queen of the Lists, Threadmasters, and Wicks and Wax. There are also themed photo opportunities, exclusive merchandise, and a few bookish craft stations to hang out at—a friendship bracelet station, a bookmark making station, a bookish button making station, and a glitter bar. They encourage everyone to show up in their favorite spooky attire.
