Alternative rock show by Reno artist Red Leather, with support from The Romance and Northern Lights, at Thunderbird Music Hall.
Red Leather plays Thunderbird Music Hall on Wednesday, October 21, with The Romance and Northern Lights opening. He's an anonymous alternative-rock artist from Reno, Nevada, and this is one of the stops on a world tour that's seen rooms selling out across America and Europe. He's built a following in the modern alternative rock scene, and the Pittsburgh date brings that tour to Butler Street.
His sound blends gritty rock influences, modern production and personal storytelling, with themes of redemption, mental health, self-discovery and personal transformation delivered through powerful vocals, anthemic melodies and cinematic arrangements. He describes his music as a fusion of classic Americana and the raw emotion of early 2000s rock. He emerged in 2022 to tell the truth about addiction, sobriety and the road to self-redemption; now three years sober, he channels that experience into every lyric.
His sophomore album, TAHOE, tells the story of how he learned to become a person after being a drug addict. It's the record he's touring, and the songs on it pull from the same ground as the rest of his work: the grit of rock and roll meeting the specifics of a life coming back together. The Romance and Northern Lights open the night, so there are three acts on the bill.
