All-guitar night of solo guitarists and pedal-demo stations at The Government Center.
Leafy Brean Recordings presents Dawn of the Riff Vol 1 at The Government Center on Thursday, October 22. It's a night built around the guitar, with four acts on the bill: Fuzznaut, Old Dream, David Kuzy, and Low Cunning. The lineup pulls from indie and metal, so the sound should shift quite a bit across the evening.
Beyond the live sets, there's a second side to the night. The promoters have set up pedal-demo stations throughout the room, where the creators of ultrasonic devices show off their latest work. It's a chance to get close to the gear and hear how it works rather than just watching it from the crowd. The organizers describe the whole thing as an all-guitar onslaught, with the room filled with gear they say will pummel the listener with good vibes.
If you're into the technical side of things, that's where the night really sits. Between the four sets, you can move around the demo stations and hear what these pedals actually do. It's as much about the tools as it is about the playing.
