Chokesetter plays Crafthouse Stage & Grill with Texas Hippie Coalition, Noble Hops and Modern Fossils.
Chokesetter play Crafthouse Stage & Grill on Thursday, October 22, with Texas Hippie Coalition, Noble Hops, and Modern Fossils on the bill. It's a four-band night, so there's plenty of music to get through before the headliner takes the stage.
Chokesetter formed in 2018 around a group of old friends and veterans of the Northwest Indiana music scene. Their sound draws on Black Sabbath and Clutch filtered through Fu Manchu, mixing heavy riffs, stoner rock, and swing-style blues. The lineup — Steve Dickson on guitars, Larry Bone on drums, Dustin Taberski on bass, and Jessi Maule on vocals, all from South Bend, Indiana — has been playing live together for more than 20 years, so they've got plenty of stage time behind them.
Sharing the bill is Texas Hippie Coalition, a Red Dirt Metal band fronted by Big Dad Ritch. They describe their sound as so devilishly electrifying it forced them to coin a new genre, and Ritch captains a self-styled pirate ship of bikers, outlaws, troubadours, and hellraisers. Across half a dozen albums and countless club gigs, the band has built its following on big riffs, big hooks, and wild times. Noble Hops and Modern Fossils round out the lineup, making it a full night of heavy music.
