Weezer performs The Gathering tour with special guests The Shins and Silversun Pickups.
Weezer are playing Mortgage Matchup Center on Tuesday, October 20, under the title Weezer: The Gathering. It's a standalone date in Phoenix, and they aren't coming alone—The Shins and Silversun Pickups are both on the bill as special guests.
Having three bands on one stage makes for a long night. The Shins bring their particular brand of melodic, carefully crafted indie pop, and Silversun Pickups add a heavier, fuzzier side of the spectrum with their wall-of-sound guitars. Between those two and Weezer, you've got a full evening of guitar-driven music from three different corners of the indie world. If you've only ever followed one of them, it's a good chance to see the others in the same room.
Weezer takes the top spot, and with two guests opening for them, the night stretches out. The Shins and Silversun Pickups will set the stage before Weezer closes it out, so you'll want to arrive early if you're planning on catching all three. The venue is Mortgage Matchup Center, located at 201 E. Jefferson St in Phoenix.

The show starts at 7 PM, and doors open 60 minutes before that, so you can get in by 6 PM if you want to beat the rush and find a spot. With three bands on the bill, it's a full night of music from start to finish.
