The Lemonheads play Crescent Ballroom with their 2027 Love Chant Tour, headlined by frontman Evan Dando.
The Lemonheads play Crescent Ballroom on Saturday, February 27, 2027, as part of The Love Chant Tour. It's a stop on the road for their latest record, Love Chant, which came out in 2025 and marks their first studio album in nearly two decades.
That gap tells you something about where the band has been. Formed in Boston in 1986, they broke through with 1992's It's A Shame About Ray and 1993's Come On Feel The Lemonheads, before frontman Evan Dando disbanded them in 1997. They reformed in 2006, followed by the cover-mixtape collections Varshons (2009) and Varshons 2 (2019). These days the band is based in São Paulo, with Dando as the only consistent member. Critics describe them as purveyors of grade-A pop punk, and their songwriting has left a mark on artists like Courtney Barnett, Waxahatchee, Phoebe Bridgers and MJ Lenderman.
Love Chant is a bold, melodic reaffirmation of Dando's songwriting. It was written across continents and recorded primarily in São Paulo, Brazil, and features contributions from J Mascis, Juliana Hatfield, Tom Morgan, Bryce Goggin, Erin Rae and Nick Saloman of The Bevis Frond. The record was co-released alongside Dando's memoir, Rumours Of My Demise.
