Rayland Baxter plays the Crescent Ballroom with his alternative country and Americana show 'The True Violet Tour', a 21-and-over venue.
Rayland Baxter brings his The True Violet Tour to the Crescent Ballroom on Monday, March 1, 2027. He's from Bon Aqua, Tennessee, and plays a mystic but grounded blend of alternative country and Americana that pulls from folk, rock, and Beatlesque pop. If you've come across his work before, you probably know "Yellow Eyes" and "Olivia," and records like Imaginary Man, Wide Awake, and If I Were a Butterfly.
True Violet is the record he's touring now, and he describes it as the one where the true metamorphosis unfolded. He wrote it after spending a year alone with a guitar and, encouraged by his sister, started writing about what he was feeling. It's also the first Rayland Baxter record made without his father, Bucky Baxter—the multi-instrumentalist best known for his work with Bob Dylan and for Steve Earle and The Dukes, whose musicianship and encouragement had shaped every previous chapter of his career.
