Singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun performs live on her The Heavy Things Tour at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix.
Joy Oladokun brings The Heavy Things Tour to Crescent Ballroom on Tuesday, October 20. It's a homecoming of sorts: Oladokun was born in Casa Grande, Arizona, and she's a queer Black singer-songwriter whose work pulls from folk, R&B, rock, and pop. She's the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, and she writes vulnerable songs about identity and social justice.
Her discography runs through Proof of Life, Observations from a Crowded Room, and Hope Is A Heavy Thing, the album that gives this tour its name. The set is built around that record, and you'll hear her blend those folk and R&B roots across the night. The show is presented by Live Nation, and it's for ages 21 and over.
