Phoenix yacht rock band plays the smooth hits of the 1970s and 1980s at the Crescent Ballroom.
Dirty Yachtin' Scoundrels play the Crescent Ballroom on Friday, December 11. They're a Phoenix-based yacht rock band, and the set is built around the smooth hits of the 1970s and 1980s.
If you're not familiar with the term, yacht rock describes the polished soft rock of the late seventies and early eighties. It's known for silky vocal harmonies, warm keyboards and melodies easy to sing along with. The Scoundrels draw from artists like Toto, Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Hall & Oates and Christopher Cross—the kind of music that feels right at home on a long drive or a lazy afternoon. It's a sound that leans on a certain kind of studio precision, and that's what they're bringing to the stage.
They're a local outfit, and they don't just play club dates. They also do corporate events, weddings, private parties and festivals across the Phoenix area, throughout Arizona and nationwide. This show is 21 and up, so keep that in mind before you head out.
