If you're in the mood to be scared, Fear Farm is hard to beat. It's billed as Arizona's largest Halloween event, and the scale backs it up: the Fear Farm Haunted Fairgrounds & Corn Maze sits at 1475 N McClintock Dr in Tempe, put on by Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, which runs more than 15 Halloween attractions worldwide. This year it's open on select nights from September 19 through November 14, with tickets starting at $24.99 and sold online only, so you can't just show up and buy at the gate.

The lineup is built around a set of themed haunted houses, and the headliner is Jason Universe: Survive the Night!, an officially licensed experience with Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise. Beyond that there's Beyond the Veil, an ancient cult and an impossible book; Mr. Tasty, the original attraction tucked into the funhouse; and The Siren, set on a cursed ghost ship that lures in the lost. The Reaper, set on a cursed farm, opened on Saturday, September 26. For something different, Phobia: Sensory Overload is a physical experience where you navigate by touch, though staff won't touch you. If you'd rather shoot back, Deadshot is a zombie shooting range using GellyBall — 8mm colored water balls, similar to airsoft or paintball, with free eye protection. Round it all out with the Field of Fear corn maze and a few carnival rides: the Zipper, Zero Gravity, and Jokers Remix.
A few things are worth knowing before you go, because the rules are strict. No costumes, face paint, props, or handheld items are allowed inside the attractions, and photos and videos are off-limits once you're in, so leave the flash and the flashlights at home. Bags are limited to clear ones no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches, food and drinks aren't allowed inside, and heels and flip-flops are discouraged. Groups larger than ten get split up, and harassing any actor or staff member will get you sent home. When you arrive, head straight to security and your designated entry point — General Admission, Fast Pass, or Skip the Line — with your digital or printed ticket ready.
If you want to lean in, there's a VIP Jason Universe: Director's Cut with very limited nightly availability, where a camp counselor leads your group to a cabin and you control how Jason attacks using four buttons: Panic, Slash, Strike, and Stalk, and you walk away with a collectible patch. For a break, the 21-plus Side Show Secret Bar pours cocktails and The Kraken's Den Secret Bar does special shots, and an unlimited fair ride pass covers the Zipper, Zero Gravity, and Jokers Remix. A note on getting there: the address is 1475 N McClintock Dr, and it's worth typing that in directly rather than searching for the business name, since apps like Uber, Lyft, and Google Maps aren't always up to date. There's partial coverage in the waiting area, so on busy nights the line can stretch past the roof. For anything else, help@fearfarm.com is the place to ask.
