Originally known as the Lower Burial Ground, Hood Cemetery was a secular burial ground for residents of lower Germantown. It is the final resting place of forty-eight veterans of the American Revolution and contains the graves of several other notable figures. The cemetery is named after the man who donated its impressive stone gateway.
