A fiber arts club for crafters of all ages to work on knitting and crochet projects or learn the basics.
Yarn Club! is back at the Frankford Library on Thursday, October 22, at 3 PM. It's a fiber arts club open to crafters of all ages, from adults and young adults to school-age children and seniors, and it welcomes newcomers and experienced makers alike.
The format is straightforward: you bring along a project you're already working on, or you come to pick up something new. If you've been wanting to start but don't know where to begin, basic instruction in knitting and crochet is on hand for anyone who wants to learn. It's as much about the making as it is about the company, so whether you're halfway through a sweater or just figuring out your first stitch, you'll fit right in.
That open-door approach is the whole point. It's one of those rare spaces where a school-age kid, a young adult, and a senior can all sit around the same table working on their own things. If you've got a project that's been sitting in a basket for months, this is a good excuse to finally bring it out and put some time into it. If you've never touched a needle or a hook before, you can walk in and get the basics down without having to figure it out on your own.
