Workshop on protecting your home and preserving family legacy through wills and legal documents, part of the Will Power Program.
Logan Library is hosting the Will Power Workshop on Wednesday, October 28, from 5:30 to 6:45 PM. It's part of the Will Power Program, a city-wide effort to help homeowners plan ahead, prevent tangled titles, and protect generational wealth through wills and other legal documents. The workshop is aimed at adults and seniors, so if you've been putting off your estate planning, this is a good place to start.
For anyone who hasn't run into the term before, a tangled title happens when a property's ownership isn't clearly documented—maybe a deed was never transferred after a death or a name was misspelled. It can turn a family home into a legal nightmare for the people who inherit it. The whole point of the program is to get those documents in order now so that your home stays in the family and doesn't get tied up in court later. A will is the most direct way to make that happen, and the workshop walks you through how it works.

The program is supported by AHCPA and Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, so it's coming from people who know the local legal landscape. If you're a homeowner in the city, it's worth spending an hour on this. The session runs from 5:30 to 6:45 PM on Wednesday, October 28, at Logan Library, 1333 Wagner Avenue (Wagner Ave. & Old York Rd.), Philadelphia, PA 19141-2916.
