Weekly club to play Nintendo Switch or Wii games on the big screen at the South Philadelphia Library, open to beginners and experts.
Video Game Club is back at the South Philadelphia Library on Thursday, October 22, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM. It's a dedicated session for playing Nintendo Switch or Wii on the big screen, so if you've got a game you've been wanting to run through without squinting at a handheld, this is the spot.
The library describes it as a session for both beginners and experts, which is a good way of saying you don't need to be a pro to fit in. If you've never picked up a controller, you're welcome; if you've got a high score you're looking to beat, there's room for that too. The whole point is just to get people together around a console and a big screen for a few hours of gaming.
It's held in the Computer Lab, so you'll find it inside the library rather than out in the main stacks. The library is at 1700 South Broad Street, right at the corner of Broad and Morris, in the heart of South Philly. If you're coming from outside the neighborhood, it's an easy spot to find—just look for the Broad and Morris intersection.

Since it's a library program, it's a low-stakes way to spend a Thursday afternoon. The session runs from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, giving you a good ninety minutes to get a few rounds in. If you're in the area and fancy some gaming on a big screen, you know where to be: South Philadelphia Library, Computer Lab, 1700 South Broad Street, Thursday, October 22, 3:00 to 4:30 PM.
