Stories, songs, rhymes, dancing and crafts for children ages 1-3 and their families, followed by toddler playtime.
Toddler Storytime is back at the South Philadelphia Library on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at 10 AM. It's part of the Free Library of Philadelphia's Storytimes series, which brings storytelling, songs, rhymes, dancing, and crafts to the city's youngest readers. The sessions are recommended for children ages 1 to 3 and their families, and siblings and caregivers are welcome to join in.
During the session, library staff lead the songs, stories, and rhymes, and the storytelling is followed by a special toddler playtime. It's designed around early literacy development, so the singing and reading are the main draw, with the playtime coming after. If you've got a little one in that age range, it's a good way to get them around books and other kids in a setting that's built for them.
This is one of many programs the Free Library runs across the city. The Storytimes series is just one part of their children's programming, which includes a wide range of storytimes, literacy sessions, and family programs. The library puts on more than 28,000 engaging and enlightening programs for all ages each year, so there's usually something on the calendar regardless of how old your kids are.
