Stories and songs for children aged four and under with their caregivers, followed by playtime for families.
Richmond Library is hosting Toddler Storytime & Play Group on Wednesday, October 21, at 10:30 AM. It's one of the many children's programs the Free Library of Philadelphia puts on across the city, and this one is built for the little onesβkids four and under, coming along with their caregivers. Siblings are welcome too, so if you've got a house full of different ages, you can bring the whole crew.
Miss Meghan leads the session, and the format is pretty straightforward: stories and songs first, followed by playtime. The reading and singing part is the focus, but the play that comes after is a big part of the draw. Families are invited to stay and play after the session finishes, which turns it into a bit more than just a quick story hour. It's a chance for the kids to burn off some energy and for the adults to hang out with other parents while the little ones do their thing.
To give you a sense of the scale, the Free Library runs more than 28,000 programs for all ages every year, and its branches host a wide range of children's storytimes and family sessions. This is one of those regular, neighborhood-level offerings that keep the library's kids' programming going throughout the week. If you're in the Richmond area and looking for a mid-morning activity with your toddler, this fits the bill.
