Paint-and-sip night with step-by-step painting instruction and open-mic karaoke hosted by The Canvas & Grapes Experience at City Winery.
The Canvas & Grapes Experience comes to The Loft at City Winery on Saturday, October 17, for a night that mixes a painting class with an open-mic karaoke party. It's a Philadelphia edition of the New Jersey paint-and-sip destination, and the format is pretty straightforward: you get step-by-step painting instruction from expert hosts, and while you're working on your canvas, there's an open-mic karaoke session going on around you, with a live DJ setting the vibe. You don't need any prior artistic experience to join in.
City Winery is presenting this one at their Philadelphia location in the Fashion District, which is a seated venue known for its dinner service and award-winning wines. Over the years, it's hosted a wide range of artists and comedians, from Wayne Newton and Musiq Soulchild to Lyle Lovett, Patton Oswalt, Lalah Hathaway, George Lopez, and Robert Glasper. The venue is near Rittenhouse Square, a block from SEPTA Regional Rail's Jefferson Station and New Jersey Transit's 8th Street Station.

Doors open at 6 PM, and the event starts at 7 PM. You'll be painting and singing at the same time, so it's more of a social night than a quiet studio session. If you're coming from outside the city, the proximity to Jefferson Station makes it easy to get to from the Regional Rail.
