Preschool and toddler storytime with Ms. Chen featuring storytelling, songs, rhymes, dancing, crafts and bubbles at the Independence Library.
Storytime at Franklin Square is back at the Independence Library on Wednesday, October 21, from 10 AM to 11 AM. It's led by Ms. Chen and geared toward preschoolers and toddlers, so it's a good one to bring the little ones to if you're around the neighborhood that morning.
The session is built around a few different things: storytelling, songs, rhymes, and dancing. It's the kind of hour where the kids get to move around rather than just sit still, and the whole thing wraps up with bubbles and some crafts. If you've got a toddler or a preschooler who can't quite sit through a long book, the mix of music and movement usually helps keep them engaged.
Ms. Chen runs the program, and it's part of the Free Library of Philadelphia's Storytimes series, which puts on more than 28,000 programs for all ages every year. This particular session runs every other Wednesday, so if you miss this one, there's another coming soon. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, the program works its way through different themes, so the stories and activities change as the seasons do.
